One cold, Melbourne winter’s day I thought “gosh, I wonder how many Melbourne food blogs there are?”
About 226.
And in Australia?
About 584.
I was astounded by the quality of Australia’s food blogs. The time, effort and love that go into these essentially unpaid endeavours is amazing. Far too intimidated to start my own, I simply did what I do best: surfed the web compiling an exhaustive list of Australian food blogs.
Help is more than welcome and I will be adding (and removing) blogs as they begin or become obsolete. Feedback and suggestions for new blogs to add can be left as comments or emailed to australianfoodblogs[at]gmail[dot]com.
When not here (which is basically always, I know) I tweet incessantly about food at eatnik.

New Thermomix site -thanks from the Thermomixer
How sad, I don’t meet criterion #4 – “based in Australia.”
I see it really was a stupid idea to move to Japan for a year.
Ha ha seriously though, great idea Anna!
Good luck with it all. Really looking forward to using your site as an easy way to keep in touch with all the moving and shaking in the Oz food world.
Cheers! – T.Y.
I’m sure the sushi makes up for not being on the list!
Perhaps I will add an ‘expat’ category as well, for those Australian food bloggers who have decamped (and there are quite a few).
Hi Anna,
I have a new-ish food blog. I would love to be considered to be on your list.

Great initiative Anna. You really have put together a veritable food bloggers encyclopedia. Well done.
Hi Anna
Chateau des Reves which you have marked as a Tasmanian blog is now not Tasmanian, as author relocated to Sydney a good while ago.
I’d blame the line editor but that would be, well, me. Thanks for letting me know! Have I got the details of your blogs correct?
Hey Anna,
Just to let you know…AlleyLife has moved to its own domain and now can be found:
alleylife.com.au
Thanks for linking to us, this is a great site.

Macca

Great idea to bring all of these fab sites to one place. I’d love for you to check out my blog and see if you’d include it on your list.

Hi Anna
I’d love to be added to your list!
Thanks
Hi Anna,
I’ve just started a food blog with the help of my bf and the other night as I was discovering another new blog my bf said “There are so many food blogs!” Indeed he is correct. This is a smart idea to list all the food blogs out there and place them into one. Keep up the great work!
That’s exactly the same feeling I had when I started this – and I’m still discovering ‘new’ blogs that have been going for years! Thanks for the feedback, good luck with Phuocndelicious.
Hi, I just found my blog on your site and I thank you for adding me!
What a great idea, I didn’t even know there was such a site, I’ll be checking in myslef,
Cheers Camilla
Hi Anna,
I have a newish blog – I wonder if you would consider including it?
Cheers, Amanda.
Hey Anna,
If you do get the expat category up and running, eatinginchina.wordpress.com tells of my eating adventures here in one of the food capitals of the world!
Thanks for the list,
Sophia.
Wow, lucky you!
If a 5 star hotel needed to find a Australian Chef for a week or so to host an Australian Food Festival in Southern China, do think this would be a good place to look?
Probably not, it’s mainly amateur cooks. Do you still need help? Happy to give you some names.
Hi
I’m writing to you from Reckoning Entertainment. We are currently looking after publicity for MasterChef’s Rock N Roll Chef, Aaron Harvie and Sydney restaurant and live music venue, The Vanguard (Newtown).
Do you accept press releases? If yes, what would be the best email address to send these to?
Kind regards,
Michelle Mossfield

I’m sorry I don’t, but I hope the event went well for you!
This is such a great idea for finding food bloggers who aren’t linked to each other so much – would love to be added to the list, too, please…
Cheers. It satisfies my need to add order to the interwebs! You’ve a very interesting blog, thanks for the link.
good list! thanx for all the effort.
Hi Anna,
This is a great idea – I’ve just started my food blog and noticed you didn’t have any listed for WA. I would love to be considered.
Thanks,
Michelle
